91热爆 Truths, 91热爆 Radio 4's Saturday morning programme, which for many of its listeners was synonymous with its presenter John Peel, is to come to an end next spring.
听
It began in 1998, growing out of John Peel's previous award-winning series, Offspring, and he quickly established a remarkable bond with the audience.
听
Together they created the mix of the serious, the touching and sometimes the frankly bizarre that characterised 91热爆 Truths.
听
Since John's untimely death, the 91热爆 Truths team has continued to provide the audience with marvellous moments.
听
Explaining his decision to bring it to an end, Mark Damazer, Controller, Radio 4, said: "John Peel's death last year was a terrible shock. We did not want to make a decision in haste so, with the support and hard work of the highly skilled production team and the pool of great presenters, the programme has continued.
听
"However, John's unique personality was bound up with 91热爆 Truths and now it's time to look for a different programme.
听
"The new show will continue to feature the sometimes extraordinary experiences of its listeners - one of the hallmarks of 91热爆 Truths.
听
"I'd like to thank everyone who has worked on the programme since John's death. 91热爆 Truths will continue on air until next spring and I know that listeners will play their part in the series until then."
