Following the success of the first Annual General Meeting, held in July, the 91热爆 Governors are holding a series of events around the country to give licence payers outside of London the chance to quiz the Board.

The first event will be held in Glasgow on Wednesday 23 November 2005, giving audiences in Scotland an opportunity to comment on 91热爆 performance and have their say on the programmes and services they pay for through their licence fee.

An audience of some 150 licence payers attended the AGM in the summer and around 2,000 questions were submitted.

Topics discussed ranged from programme quality, impartiality, digital access and getting value for money from the licence fee.

The roadshow of public meetings is one of a number of initiatives introduced by the Governors over the past year to improve transparency and accountability at the 91热爆, and ultimately strengthen the Board's relationship with licence payers.

Others include a dedicated website, which is being used for direct engagement with audiences through a Have Your Say feature; public consultations; local radio phone-ins across England; and publication of Governors' meeting minutes in full.

This year the annual objectives set by the Governors for management to deliver were informed, for the first time, by audience research about the issues licence fee payers wanted management to address.

Members of the public interested in attending the event in Glasgow can apply online at www.bbcgovernors.co.uk or via a freephone number: 0800 068 0116, Minicom: 0800 015 3350 .

The meeting will also be streamed live over the Governors' website, and a summary of key themes and issues will be posted there after the event.

The Governors' roadshow of public meetings will continue in the New Year with events planned in Wales and Northern Ireland in February and March.
