Ìý
Speaking to Sue Lawley on 91Èȱ¬ Radio 4's Desert Island Discs, Testino says: "I know Kate very well and I don't think she's at all tormented, torrid, depressed; and I have to say I'm not a witness to seeing her debauched or out of control."
Ìý
He criticises those who were quick to judge Moss: "There is a moment where everyone wants to just lose that little bit of control.
Ìý
"Who knows? Maybe that was her moment and we just happened to see that moment and all of a sudden we're judging out of ten minutes the life of somebody and destroying it. I don't think life is so black and white."
Ìý
He reveals how he's been working with her since she was a teenager: "Since 15 till today, she's never not been there on a shoot, never said to me 'I'm tired, I don't want to work', never.
Ìý
"She works from eight in the morning till 12 at night if need be."
Ìý
Testino also talks about the pressures of life in the spotlight: "You know, I couldn't be on drugs every single day, I couldn't drink every single day - but I might want to go out one night and get really drunk because I need to escape, because it's too much, you know, the stress."
Ìý
In the interview, Testino also reveals why he lived in the old Charing Cross Hospital for years, why he loves London and how he felt when he photographed Diana, Princess of Wales.
Ìý
Testino's song choices include My Way by Sid Vicious, Fina Estampa by Caetano Veloso and Life on Mars by David Bowie.
