91Èȱ¬ Radio's Test Match Special has attracted three top Australians for the jewel in this summer's sport - The Ashes.

Ìý

Rodney Marsh, Merv Hughes and Geoff Lawson will all do stints in the famous commentary box.

Ìý

One of cricket's great characters, Merv Hughes will oversee the first Test from 21 July at Lord's.

Ìý

He was an integral part of the Australian renaissance of the late Eighties and early Nineties and was appointed as an Australian selector in June.

Ìý

Geoff Lawson will join TMS for the second and third matches in the series from Edgbaston and Old Trafford in August.

Ìý

Geoff played in 46 Test matches and 80 one-day internationals for Australia and is now a respected journalist.

Ìý

Rodney Marsh will provide expert analysis on the fourth and fifth Test matches.

Ìý

The notoriously outspoken former wicket-keeper has just announced his retirement from the England and Wales Cricket Board as a selector and also as director of the National Academy so he will have plenty of insight into the workings of the England side as well as Australia.

Ìý

Merv, Geoff and Rodney join the regular TMS commentators Jonathan Agnew, Christopher Martin-Jenkins, Henry Blofeld and Simon Mann.

Ìý

They will be joined by Vic Marks, Mike Selvey, Angus Fraser, Mike Gatting, Graham Gooch and Graeme Fowler.

Ìý

Test Match Special will have live commentary of every Ashes Test as well as the one-day internationals leading up to it on 91Èȱ¬ Radio 4 LW and the DAB digital station Five Live Sports Extra.

Ìý

Listeners can hear the commentary online at bbc.co.uk/cricket where there will also be text commentary on each of the matches, columns from England bowler Simon Jones, Australian opening batsman Justin Langer and cricket correspondent Jonathan Agnew as well as post match interviews analysis with the players from both sides.
