Election brings record users to Five Live site

A General Election minisite helped Radio Five Live attract a record number
of unique user agents in April.
Ìý
The site featured an educational game called King of the Swing, in
which players try to win marginal seats around the country - and ultimately
a place in Number Ten - by answering voters' trivia questions.
Ìý
The game, which was re-skinned for use on both 91Èȱ¬ 1Xtra and 91Èȱ¬ Asian
Network, generated more than 55,000 plays.
Ìý
Five Live's site attracted almost a million users in the month - up
84 per cent on the year - and generated more than 41 million page impressions,
as its coverage in the run-up to the poll included simulcasts with the
Asian Network and 1Xtra for the first time.
Ìý
The Asian Network website also benefited from the Election coverage,
in a busy month that included Asian Network Live and the Big Bhangra
Weekend.
Ìý
April brought record traffic for the network, with 2.5 million page
impressions generated.
Ìý
Radio 4 drew a record online audience last month, with The Archers
minisite generating 1.8 million page impressions and Emma and Will's
baby picture gallery proving a big draw.
Ìý
Scott Mills' minisite accounted for 14 per cent of all traffic on Radio
1's website last month, with Scott's Weekend in Blackpool amongst the
most popular features.
Ìý
There were 150,000 MP3 downloads of 91Èȱ¬ radio programmes last month,
taking the total number of downloads past the 600,000 mark.
