91Èȱ¬ ONE's Easter Service comes live from Leeds Parish Church

91Èȱ¬ ONE is coming to Leeds Parish Church for a traditional service of Holy Communion to celebrate Easter Day.

Ìý

The public are invited to join in the celebrations at St Peter's on Easter Sunday, 27 March.

Ìý

Free tickets are now available to anyone who wants to join the congregation for this live service.

Ìý

The 91Èȱ¬'s producer Maurice Maguire says: "It is always a joy to return to Leeds Parish Church, which combines such architectural beauty with a revered tradition of worship."

Ìý

Singing will be led by St Peter's Choir directed by the Master of the Music, Dr Simon Lindley.

Ìý

The choir is accompanied by Fine Arts Brass, directed by Simon Lenton, and organist David Houlder.

Ìý

Musical highlights include George Oldroyd's Mass of the Quiet Hour which is the setting for the Holy Communion and the Responsorial Psalm which is Joseph Cullen's setting of the words from the book of Exodus, I Will Sing To The Lord, Glorious His Triumph.

Ìý

Joseph Cullen is Chorus Master with Huddersfield Choral Society.

Ìý

Congregational hymns include Jesus Christ is Risen Today, Ye Choirs of New Jerusalem, Lord, Jesus Christ and Thine Be The Glory.

Ìý

The service is led by the Precentor, Rev Joanna Yates, and opens to the sound of Leeds Parish Church's peal of bells rung by the Tower Captain, Andrew Aspland.

Ìý

The sermon is preached by Rev Roger Hutchings.

Ìý

During the service an Easter garden which has been created around the font at the west end of the nave will be blessed.

Free tickets are available from the Ticket Coordinator on 0113 245 2036.

Ìý

Those wishing to participate are asked to be seated in the church by 9.00am. Proceedings will end by 11.00am.

Ìý

There is a public rehearsal on Saturday 26 March and those wishing to participate are asked to be seated in the church by 4.30pm and will be finished by 6.00pm.

Ìý

It is not obligatory to attend the rehearsal to attend the broadcast on Easter Sunday.
