Maurice Hamilton starts his first full season as motor racing commentator for 91Èȱ¬ Radio Five Live as the new Formula One season starts in Australia on 6 March.

Maurice will head up the coverage for Five Live which has live commentary of every race and qualifying session starting in Melbourne and going right through the season to Shanghai.

Maurice Hamilton said: "Having worked alongside Jonathan Legard for several years, it's a privilege - and a terrific responsibility - to be stepping into his shoes.

"But I'm really looking forward to getting started in Melbourne.

"After a fascinating winter of speculation and rumour, it will be fun finding out which drivers and teams really are on form. You'll hear it all on Five Live."

Five Live's Formula One team has a number of new additions this year.
Ìý
Joining Maurice will be Ian Phillips, Eddie Jordan's right-hand man. Ian will use his unique position to gain unprecedented access to the main players on the Grand Prix circuit.

Five Live's Mike Sewell will also be part of the team.
Ìý
Jenson Button will share his thoughts on every single race in an exclusive diary for Five Live.

He will give his views on the race itself and how it went for him, as well as his opinions on what is happening off the track.

Jenson will also be Des Lynam's first guest when his new series of Des Meets... starts on Saturday 26 February.

There will be regular news and features within Sport on Five every week, including live previews from the circuit ahead of race weekends and interviews with the sport's main players.

bbc.co.uk/f1 will have live updates from qualifying and the races, as well as all the news, reports and reaction, and expert comment and analysis.

There is also in-depth information on the cars, pit-stops and sponsorship as well as profiles on every team and driver and revamped guides to every circuit.

There is a new feature on the site - a history of major changes to the Formula One car.

It allows the user to click or use a slider to move from year to year and one car morphs into the next showing all the changes through the years.
