Recognition of outstanding industry contributions is part of the mission of the Country Music Association (CMA) 聳 including those accomplishments outside of the USA.

CMA recently announced international awards for two well-known 91热爆 Radio 2 presenters and one Radio 2 producer who have made an impact in the global popularity of country music.

The Wesley Rose International Media Achievement Award was given to presenter Terry Wogan and producer Paul Walters of the Wake Up To Wogan radio programme.听

The duo have regularly featured country music in their programme's musical mix. It is the most popular radio programme in the UK, listened to by more than seven million listeners each week.

The award recognises outstanding achievements in the media, which contribute to the development of country music outside the US.

Radio, TV and print journalists, authors, editors, television writers and producers who reside outside the US are eligible to win this award.

Wogan and Walters, who have twice broadcast their programme live from Nashville, received their award from Jeff Walker, Chairman of the CMA Global Markets Task Force, and Rick Murray, CMA Senior Director of Strategic Marketing.

Wogan said: "I'm surprised, shocked and moved to get this award.

"Country music is continually growing as a genre and we play it on the breakfast show because we like it and the listeners like it too."

The International Country Broadcaster Award was presented to Bob Harris, a 30-year industry veteran who was described by The Mail on Sunday as a "national treasure".

The award recognises outstanding achievement by radio broadcasters outside North America who have made important contributions for the development of country music in their country.

Bob Harris spotlights the best in country music, from the classics to the cutting edge, each week to more than one million listeners of his radio programme Bob Harris Country.

He received his award from country music artists Jessi Alexander, Jamie O'Neal and Jon Randall, who are in London for a CMA New From Nashville concert event.

Jeff Walker said: "On behalf of the Board of Directors of the CMA, we feel that these awards to Terry, Paul and Bob are long overdue.

"We congratulate them and thank them for helping to bring country music to such a wide audience."
