Where do you go when there's something you want to know? When you
want to hear a story, or sing a song? When you want to know the time,
or you want to hear a rhyme?
New to CBeebies, one of the stars of the Fimbles gets his very own
show!
Encouraging viewers to enjoy the magic of reading, CBeebies will be
visiting Roly Mo every weekday from Monday 8 November.
The series is set underneath Fimble Valley, in Roly's home.
As well as seeing his library (familiar to viewers from Fimbles), we'll
also see the other underground rooms in his wonderful home - such as
his kitchen, his bedroom, his bathroom and his sitting room.
We will also see Roly's garden, his own little cultivated corner of
the valley.
Roly will be joined by his niece, Little Bo. She is
just school age and carries a backpack which contains her Busy Book.
Full of numerous games and activities, the Busy Book is animated and
features the Fimbles presenting simple puzzles to stimulate young minds.
A typical programme starts with Little Bo on her way to see Uncle Roly
after school. She's bursting with excitement - she knows she's going
to find out about something new and that she'll have lots of fun along
the way.
Two other characters join Roly Mo in exploring the big wide world through
stories and books - Yugo and Migo
are a rare genus of underground creature, commonly called 'snoots'.
Inquisitive, boisterous and generally naughty, the snoot twins provide
much of the slapstick comedy of the show.
As well as Little Bo, Yugo and Migo there will also be some other Fimble
friends on hand to join in all the fun - Rockit drops
in from time to time and Ribble makes an appearance
too.
One of the major themes of the series is Roly's favourite pastime -
reading.
Every programme contains at least one animated story, sometimes two,
which relates to the theme of that particular show.
Roly has a story or rhyme for every occasion, encouraging viewers
to enjoy the magic of reading themselves or with a parent or carer.
To celebrate the start of his new show, for one week only Roly Mo and
friends will be presenting the CBeebies on-air links from his home from
8 November, while the CBeebies presenters take a well-earned holiday.
The Roly Mo Show is produced for CBeebies by Novel Entertainment,
series produced by Novel's Lucinda Whiteley.
Helen Sheppard is producer/director and Alistair Clark and Bob Harvey
also direct.
Mike Watts is executive producer for Novel and Kay Benbow for the 91热爆.
