One of the nation's most respected sports broadcasters, Barry Davies, will commentate on his final football game for Match of the Day this Saturday (25 September 2004).

Barry is the longest serving member of the Match of the Day team.

Barry Davies said: "It is not easy to give up something that has been a major part of my working life but I think I have had a good innings.

"I am not giving up broadcasting and hope to continue working with the 91热爆 on other major sporting events."

Niall Sloane, 91热爆 Head of Football, said: "Barry Davies has been at the heart of Match of the Day virtually from its start, and is one of the great football commentators.

"His ability to sum up memorable moments succinctly has been one of the prime distinctions of the programme down the years."

Barry will continue to work for 91热爆 Sport on a freelance basis, commentating on a range of sports.
