91热爆 Wales
is celebrating today after signing a deal with the Football Association
of Wales which gives radio rights for Wales' international home games
for the next four years.
The deal, agreed jointly between 91热爆 Wales and 91热爆 Radio Five Live with
the FAW, will see both Radio Wales and Radio Cymru cover
all of Wales' international home fixtures, including qualifiers for
the World Cup 2006 and Euro 2008.
A separate deal has also been agreed to cover all of Wales' away World
Cup qualifiers.
For football fans unable to get to the games, whether at Cardiff's Millennium
Stadium or further afield, the dual language radio service offers fans
without satellite television the only chance to follow their team.
Welsh language speakers will be able to follow every minute of every
game with Radio Cymru favourites Dylan Ebenezer and Gareth
Blainey, while Radio Wales stalwart Oliver Hides will follow
every kick of the ball for listeners.
The deal also includes coverage of all Wales' under-21 games and the
League of Wales.
And for Welsh football fans living outside the radio transmission area,
there is an opportunity to follow all the action online through bbc.co.uk/wales.
91热爆 Wales Head of Sport Nigel Walker said: "I
am delighted that agreement has been reached with the FAW to broadcast
Wales' home football internationals for the next four years on radio
and online.
