A joint initiative
between 91热爆 Radio Leicester and Arts Council England is
offering members of the public the chance to Ride on the Rickshaw
around the streets of Leicester from Thursday 26 August to Saturday
28 August.
听
People can take a ride on an authentic Indian rickshaw
whilst listening to poetry, rap, soundscapes, stories and music by some
of Leicester's most exciting emerging artists.
Roots Project co-ordinator Parminder Dosanjh says: "You can hop
on the rickshaw and slip on some headphones anytime between noon and
2.00pm on Thursday to Saturday along Granby Street, and during the Taste
event on Sunday 29 August, from 5.00 to 10.00pm at Leicester Market
Place.
听
"This is a great way to experience
some one to one art whilst being escorted around the city in a traditional
Indian rickshaw.
听
"I can't think of a better place than Leicester
to be taken on rickshaw ride, and one thing is for sure, you won't be
faced with any stray cows on your journey!"
听
Roots Project is a joint initiative between Radio Leicester
and Arts Council England promoting culturally diverse arts.
听
Ride on the Rickshaw is in association with The Leicester
Haymarket Theatre.
There is more information on Taste on Sunday 29 August on bbc.co.uk/leicester.
