Christian O'Connell will be the new presenter of Radio
Five Live's successful Fighting Talk quiz show.
In his first outing on national radio, O'Connell will take the chair
of the programme from the start of the new Premiership football season
when the hour long quiz show of sporting banter returns to the airwaves
on 7 August.
Ìý
The show pits the intelligence and quick fire chat of
sporting pundits on a range of issues and judges who has the best punditry
skills. The chairman's decision is final.
Ìý
Christian follows in the footsteps of Johnny Vaughan
who hosted the shows first series earlier this year.
Ìý
Radio Five Live Controller Bob Shennan said: "Fighting
Talk is a cult show and it takes a special talent to chair the proceedings.
Ìý
"I think Christian is made for the role. He's a
brilliant appointment to take us into the new football season."
Ìý
Christian O'Connell said: "It's the kind of show
you listen to agreeing with, shouting at, laughing with and enjoying
and that's a show I really want to do.

"With a new baby on the way I would like to make
it very clear to my wife and in-laws that I will be doing vital, important
work discussing the big sporting issues of the week, with some sweaty
men in a dark room.

DIY. Oh no."
