The bbc.co.uk Cult site expands its fantasy repertoire with the launch of Vampires - the definitive guide to bloodsuckers.

The new site features a collection of spine-tingling content, including new and classic fantasy fiction, specially commissioned documentaries, illustrations and fun quizzes.

Supernatural tales written especially for Vampires include works from award winning horror/fantasy authors Kim Newman, Michael Marshall Smith, Graham Masterton and Brian Stableford, alongside classic literature from Bram Stoker and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

These chilling contributions can be read online, or heard as radio quality audio versions featuring top voice talent.

Each bloodcurdling story is also illustrated by British top comic artists Frazer Irving, Simon Davis and Charlie Adlard.

Other features in this anthology include a Doctor Who story and the latest tale of demons, ghosts and vampires from the hugely popular Ghosts of Albion online series.

Visitors to the site can also watch Interview with the Vampire featuring comment from modern day vampire fans, and the documentary The History of Vampires about vampirism and vampire hunters presented by eminent art and film critic Sir Christopher Frayling.

To find all this and a medley of other great Gothic content such as expert film recommendations and the fun personality quiz Are You a Vampire? go to .

Notes to Editors

This Is Now by Michael Marshall Smith. Are vampires the only thing that can suck the life out of people? Multiple-award winning author Michael Marshall Smith gives an unsettling answer.

After the Stone Age by Brian Stableford. The quest to stay young and slim could be over now that Vampires are back. A new story in Brian's long-running vampire mythology.

Half-Sick of Shadows by Graham Masterton. The Lady of Shallot's back. And she's not happy. The author of The Manitou pens a classic chiller.
