Radio Five Live
is broadcasting Super Bowl XXXVIII live from Houston on Sunday
(1 February 2004) as the station continues to add to its portfolio
of international sport.
Five
Live's Jonathan Pearce will provide commentary live from
the Reliant Stadium as the Carolina Panthers take on the
New England Patriots.
Jonathan
has commentated on many London Monarchs games in the past and is
an authority on American football.
Respected
pundit Sean Wheelock, who has more than eight years' experience
commentating on the NFL, will be on hand with expert analysis, as
well as explanations of the rules and technicalities to aid understanding
of the game.
Listeners
are invited to call, text and email throughout
the programme with any queries and comments they have about the
game.
In
the weeks leading up to the big game England's rugby world cup winning
skipper and lifelong San Francisco 49ers fan Martin Johnson
has be on Sport on Five every Friday to review the week's gridiron
news and look ahead to the weekend's games.
On
the night Martin will join Five Live's entertainment correspondent
Phil Williams at the Ministry of Sound's Superbash in London
with England World cup winning scrum half Matt Dawson and
England soccer goalkeeper David James.
There
will be live bands playing throughout the evening and the whole
event will be hosted by Richard Blackwood.

favourite daughter Beyonce Knowles singing the National Anthem
and the legendary half-time show headlined by Janet Jackson.
