Radio 1 announces Under 18s Club Tour with UKClubCulture
Radio 1 has revealed
plans for its biggest ever Under 18s Club Tour with UKClubCulture.
The
tour takes place from 16 to 18 February and will take in eight clubs
in eight towns and cities nationwide - Brighton, Windsor,
Newcastle, Edinburgh, Swansea, Peterborough,
Chelmsford and Hemel Hempstead.

Search
As
part of the club tour, Radio 1 will also host its biggest ever Under
18s DJ Search.
The
network has teamed up with UKClubCulture to stage a unique search
for DJ talent in every city throughout the tour.
Entrants
must be aged between 14 and 17 and will need to enter before 31
January.
There
will be eight heats in February and each will be hosted and judged
by a Radio 1 DJ including Dave Pearce, Trevor Nelson,
Fergie and Judge Jules.
Following
the heats there will be two semi-finals and a final held over the
Easter holidays in April (dates and venues to be confirmed).
The
overall winner will then spend two days at Radio 1 enjoying a master
class with a Radio 1 DJ of their choice.

Parkinson, Radio 1's Head of Specialist, Live & Speech, said:
"We wanted to offer our younger listeners a chance to enjoy
an authentic clubbing experience with some of the UK's biggest DJs.
"The
DJ search is also a great chance for us to help nurture some new
talent of the future."
Judge
Jules added: "Playing out at clubs is what I love to do most,
if I can let the next generation hear the music that moves me then
I've done my job.
"The
DJ Talent Search is a great event for people to get involved in,
maybe we'll spot the superstar DJ of the future!"
