announces Xtra Bass Week 2004
1Xtra
has announced the second Xtra Bass Week, a week of Drum & Bass
nights, which runs from Monday 2 to Saturday 7 February 2004.
Each
Drum & Bass event will be broadcast live on 1Xtra from midnight
to 2.00am, Monday to Saturday.
In
2003 1Xtra broadcast its first phenomenally successful Xtra Bass
Week.
This
saw the station broadcast live from six different UK cities. 2003's
Xtra Bass Week climaxed with guests including Grooverider, Fabio,
Roni Size, Krust, Goldie, Hazard, Bad Company and more who joined
1Xtra for an unprecedented 50 hours of non-stop Drum & Bass
over one weekend.
1Xtra
brings together an incredible line-up of DJs - L Double, Flight,
Bailey, Friction and Sappo - for the tour which hits several clubs
across the country and makes its first stop on Monday 2 February
at London's Cargo.
The
launch night, hosted by 1Xtra's DJ Flight, is an invite only event
for press and industry and will feature a live performance from
special guests, London Elektricity Live.
Lucky
listeners will have the chance to win tickets by listening or going
online for information.
From
the London launch, the tour visits Sheffield, Brighton, Cambridge,
Manchester and Milton Keynes.
On
each date of the tour 1Xtra will be joined by the best of Drum &
Bass talent such as Andy C, Ed Rush, Hype, Mickey Finn, High Contrast,
SS and more.
There
will also be a competition where listeners will have the chance
to be part of the Xtra Bass Week as an on-air mix DJ with their
own one hour show on Saturday 7 February.
With
almost a 15 year heritage, Drum & Bass is set to go big again
in 2004 with the support of a very healthy 1Xtra listenership and
some unique programming.
