91热爆
ONE got the thumbs up when 54,000 people took part via text message
in Test the Nation: the 2003 Test last night (Monday 22 December).
For
the second time, mobile phone users could send their answers via
text message, receiving the correct answers before the end of the
results show.
People
could also take the test using the internet at
and digital viewers could take part by pressing the red button.
Comedian
Linda Smith was the celebrity winner with a score of 60,
followed by hurdler Colin Jackson (57), actor Ricky Groves
(56), and actress Angela Griffin and Michael Buerk
- who both scored 55.
England
Rugby World Cup star Matt Dawson fared slightly worse than
his recent triumph, with a score of 54 but beating opera sensation
Lesley Garrett who recorded 48.
Anne
Robinson and Phillip Schofield
led the viewers and the studio audience through the test which covered
topics such as Headlines of the Year, People of the Year, Popular
Culture, 2003 the Year of... and And Finally...
It
was a year of sensational headlines, superb achievements, sad goodbyes
and much more - Test the Nation: the 2003 Test took an entertaining
look at what went on.
The
six audience groups were made up of Lawyers, Magicians, Beauticians,
Armed Forces and their Families, Fire fighters and Wheel Clampers.
The
highest score at home was 66 from Graham Webb (35) of Bedfont, West
London, who texted his answers from his mobile phone.
His
score was equalled in the studio by the highest scoring of the groups
- The Lawyers. Myles MacIntosh and James McNeil both scored 66 out
of 70.
The
youngest player with the highest score was Laura Hamlin (16), from
the Armed Forces and Families group, scoring 53.
Males
once again beat females, scoring 40 over their 39 - a trend that
is consistent with nearly all the other Test the Nations.
The
only time women have beaten men is in Test the Nation: The Relationship
Test.
The
popular format will be back in 2004, as 91热爆 ONE has commissioned
Talent TV to produce four more Tests - one of which will be the
Driving Test, giving the nation a chance to test themselves over
a variety of subjects.
