Radiohead on 91热爆 6 Music


UK rock band Radiohead have finalised their plans for a very special week of programming on 91热爆 6 Music for Christmas week.

Radiohead are curating the 91热爆's digital music station under the heading The 6 Music Selector from Monday 22 to Sunday 28 December 2003.


The band have raided the 91热爆 archive for rare recordings, hidden gems and scrutinised nearly 1,200 pages of data with more than 7,000 artists to make their selections.


Each member of the band has chosen tracks and supported them with their comments and endorsements which will filter through the seven days' output.


Highlights include drummer Phil Selway and bassist Colin Greenwood joining Gideon Coe on Monday 22 December (10.00am-1.00pm).


The show includes two specially recorded acoustic numbers performed by lead singer Thom Yorke and guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Jonny Greenwood: Karma Police and On The Beach (originally recorded by Neil Young).


Ed O'Brien selects his favourite tracks and chats to Craig Charles about being the tallest man in rock and the guitarist in one of the biggest bands in the world on Tuesday 23 December (7.00-10.00am).


Thom Yorke co-presents the Tom Robinson Evening Sequence on Wednesday 24 December (7.00-10.00pm) selecting his favourite tracks and talking to Tom Robinson.


Liz Kershaw welcomes Jonny Greenwood into the studio in her lunchtime show on Friday 26 December (1.00pm-4.00pm).


Jonny shares a boxful of vinyl he has collected on his travels with Liz and the listeners.


In addition Thom Yorke selects his favourite concerts and sessions from the 91热爆 archive from the past 30 or 40 years for the Dream Ticket (Monday-Thursday, 10.00pm-midnight).


The band have also selected the five Albums of the Day for the week.


They include American underground rock band Sonic Youth's album Goo chosen by Jonny Greenwood; If You're Into It I'm Out Of It by the experimental electronica and hardcore techno artist Christoph De Babylon chosen by Thom Yorke and legendary soul singer Al Green's Livin' For You chosen by Colin Greenwood.


At the special request of Radiohead, "beat-maverick, scratch DJ and doodler" Kid Koala performs a live session from the 91热爆's Maida Vale studios which can be heard on Sunday 28 December (7.00-9.00pm).


6 Music is a 91热爆 digital radio station that champions the very best in rock and popular music, and can be accessed via DAB digital radio, digital satellite television, Freeview, digital cable television and the internet at .
