His
Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent officially opens the 91热爆's
new Moscow Bureau today (Tuesday 3 June 2003).
The
91热爆 is bringing together for the first time journalists and production
staff from its different news operations - Newsgathering, Monitoring
and World Service 聳 in the bureau.
Equipped with the latest, state of the art technology, the 91热爆 Moscow
Bureau is bringing together the skills of the three departments
so it can deliver the most comprehensive coverage of Russia and
Russian affairs for all its outlets worldwide.
Elisabeth
Robson, Head of 91热爆 Russian Service, says: "By integrating
the three divisions into one 91热爆 Bureau, staff will be able to share
expertise and make best use of our resources and technology.
"The
new Moscow Bureau gives World Service journalists covering Russia
a sophisticated and modern environment to satisfy the high demand
for quality content about Russia for radio, TV and online across
a range of 91热爆 outlets in dozens of languages across the world."
Coinciding
with the 91热爆 Moscow Office opening is the launch of the revamped
online site of 91热爆 Russian Service, .
The
site has been brought into line with 91热爆 logo and design standards.
It is now 30% wider while the additional space is organised more
efficiently.
The
site loads much more quickly and appears in a new eye-catching colour
scheme.
But
the Russian team has taken the opportunity to revise the entire
look and interactivity.
Content
changes include a new division entirely dedicated to Russia, which
will not only offer information from and about Russia, but will
also say how Russia is covered by Western media and include comments
by pundits worldwide.
