calls up Olonga and Donald for Test Match Special
Henry
Olonga and Allan Donald have been signed by the 91热爆's Test
Match Special to commentate on England's Tests and one-day internationals
against Zimbabwe and South Africa this summer.
Zimbabwean
fast bowler Henry Olonga was the first black cricketer to represent
Zimbabwe.
He
has
been in the public eye since he and team-mate Andy Flower wore black
armbands in their first World Cup match this year "to mourn
the death of democracy".
This
summer he joins Test Match Special for the Zimbabwean Tests from
Lord's and the Riverside and the Natwest series.
Allan
Donald is arguably South Africa's finest ever bowler.
He
is one of the few players in the world to take over 300 Test wickets.
He retired from Test cricket in 2001.
He
continued playing international one-day cricket until South Africa
went out of the recent World Cup and is concentrating on his commentating
career and captaining Free State.
Peter
Baxter, Producer for Test Match Special, said: "Olonga and
Donald are fantastic additions to the Test Match Special team which
also sees the return of former South African opening batsman Andrew
Hudson after a successful stint in the commentary box during the
World Cup.
"All
have a wealth of international experience which will provide an
essential insight into the touring sides."
They,
with TMS stalwarts, Vic Marks, Angus Fraser and Mike Selvey,
will join the existing commentary team of Jonathan Agnew, Christopher
Martin-Jenkins, Henry Blofeld, Simon Mann and Jonny Saunders.
