West reporter Clinton Rogers will be travelling to Qatar tomorrow
to cover the war.
Clinton
is flying out with the 'second wave', replacing colleagues coming
home after an exhausting two weeks following the run-up to the conflict.
He
will be working in a new team of six reporters picked from around
the UK. They are charged with supplying all 91热爆 regional television
and radio stations with information.
With
over fifteen years' experience reporting for the 91热爆 behind him,
Clinton is a familiar face to news viewers. Previous roles have
included 91热爆 West home affairs correspondent and national West of
England correspondent. He
also flew out to cover the conflict in Bosnia of behalf of the 91热爆.
In
order to prepare for his new assignment, Clinton has undergone military-style
training. Like soldiers, he has learnt to don a protective suit
in nine seconds to shield against a chemical attack, and been drilled
on how to respond in a kidnap and interrogation situation.
Clinton's
family of four children and wife of 25 years are supportive. He
says: "I take a picture of them with me everywhere I go, but I don't
consider that I'm the one taking the big risks. My mind is on getting
the best quality information back home to viewers as soon as possible."
