Creative
faces needed for new 91热爆 venture
91热爆
WM and Arts Council England (West Midlands office) are holding auditions
to find artists to appear in the publicity material for a new initiative
called Roots.
Auditions
take place this Saturday 15 March at Revolution Bar, Broad Street,
Birmingham between 10.00am and 2.00pm.
Roots
is looking for DJs, sculptors, musicians and designers - in fact,
any kind of artist with serious intentions of getting their artistic
or creative talent put out to a wider audience.
Potential
models just need to turn up on Saturday with evidence of their work,
which can be anything from a CV to photos or a demo tape.
Loyd
Williams, Roots Co-ordinator, says: "We're looking for two
people, both of whom can be complete unknowns or notorious movers
and shakers on the region's arts and entertainment scene - but they
must have a creative ambition to 'big-up' their name!
"It's
not about model looks, but you can be sure that on the day of our
photo shoot, we'll take care of everything from clothes to make-up
and produce a totally stunning image!"
In
addition, Roots is looking for people with interesting work or ideas
for Roots interviews, features and events: "We're particularly
keen to profile culturally diverse arts and entertainment with the
added intention of mainstreaming this work," adds Loyd.
Roots
aims to raise the profile of African Caribbean, Asian and Chinese
artists on 91热爆 Radio and Television and in particular, follow artists
from these communities for a landmark programme next year.
Notes
to Editors
Roots
will:
- work
with people in the West Midlands to produce features and events
to be broadcast on the 91热爆;
- talk
to people involved with arts and entertainment across the region
to get the bigger picture on the West Midlands' creative communities;
- promote
the 91热爆 and Arts Council, West Midlands programmes and services
to give people better access to auditions, schemes, shows, funding,
workshops and industry networks.
