La Scala! triumphs at the Indie Awards
Tomorrow
La Scala! scooped the award for best drama at the Indie Awards.
Written
and directed by award-winning documentary film maker Francesca Joseph,
the critically acclaimed Tomorrow La Scala! stars Jessica Stevenson
as the director of an opera company which is putting on a performance
of Steven Sondheim's Sweeney Todd in a maximum security prison using
lifers as the chorus.
Tomorrow
La Scala!, which also stars Samantha Spiro, Shaun Dingwall and Daniel
Evans, made its debut with a successful screening at the Cannes
film festival in 2002 before being shown on 91热爆 TWO.
The
film was jointly developed by 91热爆 TWO, 91热爆 Films and The Film Council
under a scheme which provides a springboard for directors working
in other disciplines (notably television and advertising) to launch
themselves into feature film making.
It
was co-produced by Chris Collins for 91热爆 Movies Productions and
Ruth Caleb for 91热爆 Films.
At
the awards ceremony on Wednesday 5 March 2003, the 91热爆 also won
the New Media category with Test The Nation.

All the
91热爆's digital services are now available on ,
the new free-to-view digital terrestrial television service, as well
as on satellite and cable.
Freeview
offers the 91热爆's eight television channels, interactive services
from 91热爆i, as well as 11 91热爆 radio networks.
