Richard
Clark has been announced as the new Editor of Radio 4's The World
at One, PM, The World this Weekend and Broadcasting House.
Richard
is currently 91热爆 News Editor and will take up his new role on 17
March.
Stephen
Mitchell, Head of Radio News, said: "Richard is an outstanding
journalist with a wealth of experience in radio current affairs
as well as across the wider 91热爆 News operation.
"He
is committed to maintaining the high quality of our output across
the range of programmes for which he is now responsible and I know
he will do an excellent job."
Richard
said: "I am thrilled to be returning to the Radio 4 sequence
programmes and am delighted to be joining one of the most journalistically
rigorous and creative teams in news and current affairs."
After
gaining a degree in English, Richard became a reporter with Associated
Kent Newspapers, before joining the 91热爆 in 1985.
He
began as a news producer for 91热爆 Radio Kent and in 1988 he moved
to 91热爆 Radio Bedfordshire to take up the post of News Editor.
After
a further three years in local radio, Richard moved to 91热爆 News
in London as Duty Editor for the Today programme. He was appointed
Assistant Editor for the Today programme in 1994 and Deputy Editor
in 1997.
His
spell on Today was followed by a stint with Newsgathering, first
running the Social Affairs Unit and finally as 91热爆 News Editor.
Richard
was born in 1957 and lives in Hertfordshire.
All the
91热爆's digital services are now available on ,
the new free-to-view digital terrestrial television service, as well
as on satellite and cable.
Freeview
offers the 91热爆's eight television channels as well as 11 91热爆 radio
networks.
