Nicola's help for Fishguard listener

91热爆 Radio Wales' Nicola Heywood-Thomas programme has given hope to a transplant patient for the first time in four years, says his brother.

Wyn Williams of Fishguard, contacted Nicola's lunchtime Radio Wales programme after hearing a phone in about transplants which included an interview with Dr Richard Moore.

His letter, which detailed the struggle his brother Brian was having to be considered for a kidney transplant, was passed to a transplant co-ordinator who has promised to be in touch with the family to offer them help.

"We realise that she won't be able to pluck a kidney from fresh air, but for my brother Brian, any positive step gives him hope - for the first time in four years this is just about the first positive step," wrote Mr Williams in a personal letter to Nicola, which was accompanied by a large bunch of flowers.

Nicola said: "It's fantastic that our programme can really make a difference to some people's lives. The phone-in is all about giving listeners the opportunity to air their views and get a chance to tackle some vitally important issues.

"Wyn's letter told us a very moving story and all of us on the programme are delighted that Brian's much needed transplant may be now a step closer."
