CHILDREN IN NEED

The Big Night on 91热爆 Television Friday, 15 November, 2002 7.00pm - 2.00am 91热爆 ONE

Terry Wogan, Pudsey Bear and Gaby Roslin

On Friday, 15 November, 91热爆 ONE gives itself over to seven hours of programming bulging at the seams with entertainment, as 91热爆 Children In Need again takes to our screens.

This major annual TV event, hosted by Terry Wogan and Gaby Roslin, brings together the brightest and the best of British talent ready to sing, dance and wear fishnets - and that's not just the girls - to raise money for under-privileged children in the UK.

For the second year running, there will be 91热爆 Children In Need concerts around the country - acts and venues will be announced soon.

Some of the studio highlights confirmed so far include the News and Weather teams performing The Rocky Horror Show - look out for Frankenfurter, you'll be amazed!

The EastEnders cast become the undead when they perform Michael Jackson's Thriller and Claire Sweeney performs Lady Marmalade.

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of Elvis's death, artists including Darren Day, Eamonn Holmes and Nadia Wadia will pay tribute to the King; and What Not To Wear presenters Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine swap fashion for singing and dancing when they perform Vogue in front of celebrity backing singers.

Mariah Carey, Anastasia and Holly Valance are just some of the international mega music stars who will be performing on the night in the 91热爆 studio.

Pop Idol winner Will Young is recording this year's charity single, the double A-side You And I/Don't Let Me Down, and will also open the show with a live rendition in the studio.

The 91热爆 Children In Need TV show has always been a favourite with viewers. It promises to serve up many unique TV gems and unmissable chances to spy famous pop stars, celebrities and actors doing things they wouldn't normally do.

Last year, 91热爆 Children In Need raised 拢25 million and the charity hopes to raise even more this year.

91热爆 Children In Need will use the money raised to give grants to registered charities or voluntary and community groups that support youngsters aged 18 or under.

Children with disabilities or psychological disorders, and those who have suffered serious illness, abuse, poverty or neglect, are among those who will receive support.

Throughout the night, there will be regular updates from around the country and appeal films, enabling viewers to see how the money is being spent and why it is important to raise even more this year.
