2W gives reason to love Wales
Extraordinarily
sexy students, Chinese takeaways in Port Talbot, Wales' rear of
the year in Snowdonia and Stuart Cable's mum - just some of the
reasons why we all love Wales.
And
they can all be found in 91热爆 Wales's raft of new programmes for
its digital TV service 91热爆 2W, unveiled today (Monday 30
September) and spelling out fresh reasons to celebrate Wales.
Taking
an I Love Wales theme to launch its autumn season on 2W, the broadcaster
offered a menu of drama and entertainment to tempt even more people
to tune into the digital TV revolution.
From
the racy new campus-based drama First Degree to the new look interactive
Dragon's Eye, 91热爆 2W promises a range of programmes reflecting modern
Wales with something to appeal to everyone.
Highlights
in the best 2W schedule yet include:
First
Degree - a steamy new drama set in a futuristic media college
campus where paradise comes at a price. The students get a great
education, while the college corporation gets their minds.
Cable
TV - the chance to tune in to Stereophonics drummer Stuart
Cable's very own chat show, with groovy guests, live music and a
few pearls of wisdom from Stuart's mum Mabel.
Showtime
Wales - some of the best-loved musical numbers brought to
life with nightly coverage of the two-week extravaganza in the Welsh
capital.
I
Love Wales - reasons to be cheerful about the Land of My
Fathers, from the best beaches and the most popular spots for lovers
to meet to the secret Welsh hankerings of the rich and famous
Remember
Wales - a weekly trip back to the way we were - before the
multiplex cinemas and the Millennium Stadium.
Dragon's
Eye - the Dragon's back to breathe fire into Welsh politics
- and now it's interactive.
The
Biz - reality TV meets the business world as five wannabee
tycoons learn to turn dreams into money-making enterprises.
Wales
v Italy - from the Manics' crowd-rouser to the final whistle,
91热爆 2W will capture action from every angle, with the under-U21s
game thrown in exclusively as well.
Welsh
Stories - in the age of the internet, 2W gives the people
of Wales the chance to tell their own stories, in their own way,
in bite-size chunks using new media technology.
Speaking
at the launch, 91热爆 Wales' Head of Programmes, English, Clare Hudson
said: "2W is going to be one year old in November, and this
autumn schedule is the best yet.
"There
has never been a better time to go digital in Wales. The array of
new programmes we are offering every weekday in primetime includes
something for everyone. If you love Wales then 2W is for you."
Though
91热爆 2W viewers will be able to see the premiere of all these new
programmes this autumn, analogue viewers will be able to catch up
with the best of the broadcasts at a later date.
Also coming soon...
And
We Love Wales because there's always more to look forward to.
Like
some of the programmes already in the pipeline for 91热爆 2W including
a Christmas season run of The Simpsons; Welsh Gold, classic archive
clips of old favourites such as District Nurse; a two part series
on Wales' castles featuring Lionel Fanthorpe's Horror Castles and
Roy's Welsh Castles with Roy Noble.
And
not forgetting next year's 80th Anniversary of the 91热爆 - a celebration
of Auntie's golden moments since the early 20th century.
