91热爆
and US public radio stage a global phone-in about September 11th
91热爆
World Service is teaming up with the Washington based public radio
station WAMU 88.5FM to bring Living with Terror after 9/11: The
World Speaks to audiences around the world.
The
live international call-in on Saturday 7 September will enable listeners
to speak their minds on the state of the world post September 11th.
Presented
by 91热爆's Robin Lustig and America's leading TV and radio broadcaster
Deborah Amos, the two-hour phone-in show will be broadcast live
from the 91热爆's Washington studios and, in addition to 91热爆 World
Service's 40 million English-speaking audience, will be available
to more than 700 public radio stations.
Thanks
to collaboration between the 91热爆 World Service and WAMU, people
from around the world will be able to call toll-free, speaking their
minds, and hear other views on living with terror after the events
of that day.
The
conversation is likely to touch on whether the US is to blame for
rising terrorism around the globe, how the US-led war on terrorism
is impacting others and whether it can ever be won.
They
will also try to explore how people in places like Ireland, the
Basque region and Algeria have coped with a constant threat of terrorism
in their daily lives.
Robin
Lustig said: "This will be a unique opportunity to hear directly
from people all over the world how those terrible events of a year
ago have affected them.
"It
will also enable Americans and non-Americans to talk to each other,
to compare their feelings and their fears, and to try to bridge
the gap that sometimes seems to separate the US from the rest of
the world."
