NORTH WEST REGIONAL TV

Tony Morris is a man on a mission to find the weird and the wonderful

The new face of 91热爆 ONE current affairs in the North West, Tony Morris, has accepted the task of scouring the region for fresh and challenging stories for the new peak time programme Inside Out and is looking for help in creating the full local picture.

His brief is to create new and engaging features for Inside Out - Surprising Stories from Familiar Places.

Tony and the team are actively looking for unusual stories on heritage, lifestyle and history - the weird and the wonderful rather than simply news and current affairs.

According to Tony Morris, the region is a rich source of interesting stories which are often overlooked: "The number of times you pick up a story from a casual conversation at a bus stop or while having a drink in the pub is incredible.

"These are the real stories we are looking to uncover, the type of thing which makes people stop in their tracks.

"We're looking to get people talking through showing items which bring the North West to life and make memorable thought provoking television."

The peak time Monday night slot on 91热爆 ONE features three different regional stories each week and the series includes:

- R
are archive film and fascinating insights into how local towns used to look

- Looking behind the scenes and revealing local treasures
answering questions like: Why do we want to turn wildlife into domestic pets?

- How did Cheshire come to be the wedding capital of the UK?

-
Does Cumbria really have the most haunted castle in England?

All the programmes will be made and produced locally and take a new approach to involving the audience with different parts of the life of the region.

The team are always on the lookout for fresh new local talent and people with television presentation experience to work on future programmes.

Inside Out doesn't have a fixed agenda and so the subjects it features do not have to follow a particular pattern - the only measure is that they be stories that get people talking.

The participation of the audience is key to the success of the programme in helping Inside Out to uncover those hidden gems and Tony Morris in his mission to discover those stories just waiting to be told.

Inside Out goes on air on Monday 9 September at 7.30pm on 91热爆 ONE (North West).
