91热爆 Radio 1 relaunches website with Radio on Demand

Today the multi-award winning Radio 1 website, - available through 91热爆i - relaunches with a revamped look and a pioneering interactive service that will put the schedule in the listeners' hands, giving them the chance to listen to specialist Radio 1 shows whenever they chose to do so.

Radio On Demand is the first deal of its kind allowing Radio 1 to put all specialist shows on the website for one week following broadcast.

Listeners will be able to hear music via the website from the station's huge range of specialist shows from Pete Tong to Fergie to Dance Anthems to Gilles Peterson to the Radio 1 Rock Show, at any time they want day or night.

This means that shows can be replayed as many times as listeners want if they've missed them on air or just want to hear their favourite DJs over again.

As part of Radio On Demand, a specially designed Radio Player will be available. The player will provide a description of each show and allow users to quickly browse through the whole range of Radio 1's output and select the shows they need to hear.

Radio 1 DJ Dave Pearce said: "I think this is a great development. Often on Dance Anthems we get emails all week asking about records in the show or to hear them again. Now at the click of a button you'll be able to hear your favourite shows again."

Radio 1 Website Manager Ros Lawler said: "The new site design is fresh and vibrant, genuinely reflecting the character of Radio 1 programmes and presenters, and relaunching with the groundbreaking Radio on Demand service genuinely puts Radio 1 at the fore of all music sites.

"It means that even more than before music is at the heart of what our site is about and that listeners have got total freedom over when they listen to specialist shows. It really puts the power in the hands of the Radio 1 audience."
