91热爆 New Comedy Awards Regional Final In Bristol
The
regional final of the 91热爆 New Comedy Awards is taking place on Thursday
30 May at The Watershed, Canon's Road in Bristol.
2001
Perrier nominated comedian Daniel Kitson will be compering the evening.
Between six and eight stand-up comedians will battle it out to earn
a place in televised showcases being held in London during June
and July, filmed for 91热爆 Choice.
The
best of the stand-ups will then be invited to the grand final at
the Edinburgh Festival in August.
The
final will be filmed for 91热爆 Choice and 91热爆 ONE, in front of a panel
of distinguished judges from the world of comedy (which in the past
have included, the late Spike Milligan, Bob Mortimer, Peter Kay,
Doon Mackichan and The League of Gentlemen...). The film will
also feature The Fast Show's Charlie Higson.
The
overall winner will walk away with the coveted 91热爆 New Comedy Award
Stand-Up title, receive 拢1,500 in prize money and also have
the opportunity to work on 91热爆 Choice. Two runners up will each
receive 拢750.
The
finalists are: Ninia Benjamin from London; Jason Parry from Somerset;
Dylan (Chris Tisdall) from London; Steve Williams from Newport,
Wales; Nick Page from Gloucestershire and Adam Montgomery from Worcestershire.
Now
in its seventh year, the 91热爆 New Comedy Awards is the UK's biggest
competition of its kind.
The
awards are part of 91热爆 Talent, the 91热爆's campaign to find and nurture
the nation's new talent, which is now in its third year.
