Big award for Shropshire's Littler
91热爆 Radio Shropshire's receptionist Julie Littler had a very special
surprise sprung on her when the Mayor of Shrewsbury and Atcham,
Councillor Charles Forshaw, dropped by to present her with a Mayor's
Award for services to the community.
Julie was expecting the Mayor to visit as he was a guest on the
mid-morning show - but she was not prepared for the unexpected accolade.
Presenter Nonny James and station staff accompanied the Mayor to
the station's reception area, live on air, to award Julie with her
certificate.
Julie, who has lived in Shropshire all her life, joined 91热爆 Radio
Shropshire two years after it opened and has been the station's
front-of-house face ever since.
The award was given to her in recognition and appreciation of her
efforts and hard work as the station's long-serving receptionist.
A regular visitor to the station, the Mayor commended Julie for
always greeting him with a warm welcome and a smile.
Now in her forties, Julie is married to Bill and both are keen golfers.
Julie Littler was delighted with the award and said: "What a wonderful
morning I've had! I was totally oblivious to what happened. Absolutely
shocked - but thrilled and honoured to receive a Community Services
Award. I still can't believe it."
Tony Fish, Managing Editor, 91热爆 Radio Shropshire said: "Julie is
our front line person who deals with people brilliantly, making
everyone feel welcome and giving her time to callers even when she鈥檚
under great pressure.
"She has never been known to lose her temper! Julie is 91热爆
Radio Shropshire to many of our callers and visitors."
91热爆 Radio Shropshire broadcasts on 96 FM.
