honoured at Variety Club Annual Showbusiness Awards 2002
The
creme de la creme of the showbusiness profession has been honoured
at this year聮s Variety Club Showbusiness Awards 2002 in a ceremony
held today at the London Hilton Hotel, to be shown on 91热爆 ONE at
8.00pm on Wednesday 13 February.
In
a ceremony hosted by Ulrika Jonnson, awards were given in numerous
categories recognising achievements in areas as diverse as Showbusiness
Personality to Musical Theatre; from Outstanding New Talent to Outstanding
Contribution To Showbusiness. Those receiving awards include Dame
Judi Dench in the Film Actress category, Ewan McGregor as best film
actor, and Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe picked up the
Sir James Carreras Award for New Talent. 91热爆 Radio 4聮s The
Archers won for best Radio Personality as 91热爆 ONE聮s Alistair
McGowan and Ronni Ancona jointly won this year聮s comedy award.
Theatre world winners included Alan Rickman and Lindsay Duncan,
while My Fair Lady picked up the Best Musical Theatre award. Other
winners at the star-studded function included Kylie Minogue who
received the Showbusiness Personality honour and Sophie Ellis Bextor
for Recording Artiste of the year.
