ZingZillas return for second series

ZingZillas have been called for an encore performance after a second series of the hit children's show was commissioned this week. The band will be back to rock UK screens in Winter 2011. Series two of the live action music series will feature 52 x 11 episodes with Zak, Tang, Panzee and Drum remaining at the forefront of each show.

Series two will feature a number of new elements. Inspired by the brand new Zingbops, the ZingZillas will be joined by Zingboppers in each episode who access the island in a brand new submarine. The Zingboppers will join the band for a new live kids dance section.

Stephanie McLernon-Davies, Commercial Director at 91Èȱ¬ Worldwide said, "We're incredibly excited about the year ahead for ZingZillas, the band have a series of high profile festival performances lined up for the summer supported by a high profile marketing and PR campaign. This will set the scene perfectly for their return to CBeebies."

ZingZillas were the No.1 new pre-school license in the total toy market in 2010, continuing into January 2011, and were also the No.1 New License in the plush category in 2010. The magazine was also the No.1 title launch for 91Èȱ¬ Magazines in 2010 and continues to outsell other titles in the same sector, averaging 52,000 units per issue.

ZingZillas will also be playing at a host of festivals across the UK and Australia this summer, with headline performances at Glastonbury Festival, Lollibop, Camp Bestival, Legoland Live and Hampton Court Summer Festival. These headline performances build on a succession of performances in 2010, where the band played at the Christmas lights switch on in Sheffield and Manchester, as well as the annual Abbey Park Fireworks Display in Leicester, a special performance at the Sydney Opera House and their debut gig in London's Bedford Square Gardens.
