91Èȱ¬ Worldwide brings new formats to MipTV European broadcasters sing out for Tonight's The Night

Tonight's The Night

91Èȱ¬ Worldwide, which will be taking six new formats to MipTV, has today announced new sales of shiny floor wish-fulfilment format Tonight’s The Night.

Norway (TV2) and Sweden (TV4) have signed up to produce the format that sees deserving members of the public given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform in front of millions of viewers. These deals follow the sale of the format to Ukraine (New Channel), where Tonight’s The Night recently achieved the best performance of a premiere ever on the channel.

The six new formats on offer at MipTV next month are The House That Made Me, Junior Doctors: Your Life In Their Hands, Toughest Place To Be, Generation Gap, Cook Off and A Farmer’s Life For Me

Stepping out for the first time in Cannes is Nutopia Productions’ The House That Made Me, an innovative new biographical format, where famous figures take an emotional but frequently uplifting trip back to meticulous recreations of the homes they were brought up in.

Also new to the market is Junior Doctors: Your Life In Their Hands, a fly-on-the-wall series format which puts the lives of seven newly qualified doctors under the microscope during their first four months on the wards of a busy city hospital. The UK show, which aired on 91Èȱ¬ Three this year, was the channel’s biggest rating non-scripted series ever.

Toughest Place To be is a series where ordinary people with ordinary jobs are displaced to some of the most extreme environments on earth to work alongside the locals in workplaces that are wildly different from those they are used to.

Fresh off the back of a successful UK launch, Generation Gap will also be on offer in Cannes.  Heart-warming, funny, insightful and more timely than ever, Love Productions’ Generation Gap is an active, immersive format that sees young people volunteer for work in a care home for the elderly.  Also from Love Productions is Kidnapped By The Kids, an experimental and thought-provoking format that sees workaholic parents kidnapped from the workplace by their children and whisked off on a holiday where the kids call the shots, and The Great Bake-Off, an entertaining and exciting competition format that launches a nationwide search to find and crown the best amateur baker.

For more culinary delights, look no further than the studio based competition Cook Off, which is on a mission to find the nation’s best cooking family. Mixing cooking challenges, plenty of foody tips and chat, and a celebrity guest, Cook Off creates a unique brand of entertainment.

Splash Media’s competition reality format, A Farmer’s Life For Me, sees nine couples leaving the rat race to put their farming skills to the test as they compete to win a sensational prize: the opportunity to run their very own farm, surrounded by acres of stunning countryside, for an entire year.

Returning formats 91Èȱ¬ Worldwide will be taking to MipTV include Life on Mars, The Week The Women Went, recently produced in France and India, and global hits Dancing With The Stars and Top Gear.
