In the Night Garden magazine to launch in Indonesia

Successful pre-school title, In the Night Garden is to launch in Indonesia following a licensing deal between 91Èȱ¬ Worldwide and publisher PT Media Griya Harmony, part of MRA Printed Media. The first issue of the magazine will go on sale on 22 February 2010 and be priced at Rp 25.000 ($2.5 US).

In the Night Garden magazine is based on the internationally successful children's TV series, which launched on the CBeebies channel in Indonesia in April 2009. The magazine will be edited by Aksara Sophiaan and will contain 20% local content and 80% UK content. The initial print run of the magazine will be 70,000.

In the Night Garden Indonesia is the fourth international licence for this title which is already licensed in China, Middle East, Australia and Poland. The magazine continues to perform well in the UK; in the latest audited figures (ABC period July- Dec 09) its circulation was 67,454.

James Hewes, Head of International Development at 91Èȱ¬ Magazines, says: "91Èȱ¬ Worldwide is very pleased to have licensed In the Night Garden magazine to MRA Printed Media. Its Indonesian launch adds to the magazine's increasing presence and we are confident that this pre-school title will do well in a country where CBeebies characters are so popular."

Aksara Sophiaan, Editor in Chief of In the Night Garden in Indonesia says, "In the Night Garden magazine launching in Indonesia is a breakthrough, because until now there hasn't been a magazine specifically intended for children under five. Many parents are looking for a magazine that can both entertain and develop early learning skills. Aided by the extraordinary success of the television programme, In the Night Garden will be the leading magazine for toddlers in Indonesia."

This new licensing deal will result in MRA Printed Media publishing two 91Èȱ¬ Worldwide titles in Indonesia; Charlie and Lola and In the Night Garden.
