The 80th anniversary edition also features the results of a massive online poll (12,000 people participated) conducted by the magazine to discover what we like and don't like about TV in modern-day Britain.

The 30-question survey reveals, among other things, that over 59% per cent of those polled would need at least 拢1m to give up TV for life (42% of which said nothing less than 拢10m); Nigella Lawson is the 'thinking man's crumpet'; Angus Deayton should be reinstated as the host of Have I Got News For You; EastEnders character Ian Beale beats Basil Fawlty to win the worst boss title; Michael Parkinson is the best chat-show host ever; and DI Jack Frost is the TV copper most people would like to see on their local beat.

Over 40 celebrities also feature in exclusive photographs and interviews for the issue including Paul Merton as Charlie Chaplin, David Attenborough as a Natural History Museum exhibit, Delia Smith (with cigarette in mouth and dirty apron) serving Jamie Oliver a full English in a caf茅, Bruce Forsyth on an airport baggage carousel complete with cuddly toy, some of the great TV globetrotters such as Alan Whicker and Michael Palin at the Travellers Club in Pall Mall, and even former Ballykissangel-star Colin Farrell posing sexily in Spain.

Radio Times asked all the stars to recall their fondest memories of TV and radio and the special commemorative issue features a gatefold cover with Michael Parkinson and Nigella Lawson. The 'Domestic Goddess' has even baked a special birthday cake for the magazine, the recipe of which is included inside.
