03.02.03 Walking
with Cavemen - Released on DVD and VHS on 31 March 2003
The
latest from the acclaimed 'Walking With聟' series, Walking with
Cavemen charts the evolutionary story of human development told
in the inimitable, revolutionary way now familiar through Dinosaurs
and Beasts (both available on DVD and VHS from 91热爆 Worldwide).
This
is the comprehensive history of us - from our earliest roots as
bi-pedal apes, through to the first sentient beings. Compelling
dramas tell both the evolutionary and day-to-day story of our forebears
and computer-animations illustrate the film with images of the kinds
of creatures we both feared and hunted.
Accurate
depictions of the cavemen have been made possible by state-of-the
art special effects. The actors who played the roles underwent four
hours of pioneering prosthetic makeup per day to recreate scientifically
accurate reconstructions of our ancestors.
The
series makes use of a special effect called "deep timelapse"
which makes subtle changes over time appear to shrink into moments.
Climate change, geological uplifts and evolutionary change itself
are all visible and shocking when seen taking place over moments
rather than tens of thousands of years.
