Too busy to exercise? Too many other priorities? No time to get to the gym? Or maybe you're just bored of the same old exercise routine 聟


Kickstart is a new concept in video exercise: three 20-minute workouts, each very distinctive, each very challenging and each short enough to fit into any day, no matter how busy.


Kickstart contains bitesize workouts based on today's most effective, fun and fashionable exercise regimens; yoga, boxing and kung-fu. Each section is led by an expert in the field and is followed by presenter, Monique de Villiers, who demonstrates how even beginners can adapt the routines to individual use.


All the workouts provide the perfect balance of cardiovascular and strength training, toning, relaxation, warm up and cool down. All you have to do is choose which one best reflects your current mood and energy levels and then follow the workout.


Yoga: no longer the preserve of the wealthy and famous, yoga is recognised as being one of the most valuable exercises for all-round health, tone and strength. Under the instruction of yoga guru Jean, Monique undertakes a dynamic session, which introduces the basic principles of power yoga and the critical breathing techniques it requires. Regular participation in this workout will keep your joints and limbs supple, strengthen and lengthen your muscles and leave you with a profound feeling of relaxation.


Boxing: if you're suffering from pent-up anger or aggression, this punchy workout is for you! It's a demanding, sweaty but low-impact session with professional boxer and trainer, Martin, who puts Monique through her paces with all the basic moves necessary to keep you fighting fit. A boxing session such as this will quickly increase your cardiovascular fitness and has the added benefit of being a great workout for the arms and shoulders.


The third workout on the tape is Linda Wells' unique session based on the ancient martial art of kung-fu. She shows Monique the basic poses and moves which traditionally were conceived by a nun who watched a snake and a crane fighting, and who based her ideas on the opposing but effective moves that each combatant employed. The moves are balletic and controlled, but packed with power and will ensure improved muscle tone and co-ordination.
