91热爆 World News talks football, launching Sports World Have Your Say, the new interactive sports forum

Sports World Have Your Say:

Sports World Have Your Say is hosted by Amanda Davies and broadcasts every Sunday to audiences around the world. This interactive discussion show puts football fans at the heart of the game.

Each week Amanda will be joined by a guest presenter and in this week's first show, Leroy Rosenior, former International for Sierra Leone, who played professionally for clubs including: Fulham, Queens Parks Rangers, Bristol City and West Ham United, will be joining her in the studio to reflect on the opening weekend of action in the premier league.

Sports World Have Your Say is the global conversation that each week will discuss the goals, the gossip, the transfers and the tantrums. The show will give fans the chance to have their say, via telephone, emails, SMS and social media outlets including F acebook (sportsworldhaveyoursay) and T witter @91热爆SportsWHYS #swhys

Host Amanda Davies says: 鈥 I went to my first football match at the age of 5, and have been in love with the game ever since. I've been lucky enough to go to grounds around the world - from the Bernabeu in Spain, to Old Trafford in the UK, and the Luzhniki in Russia, and I can't wait to speak to fans from around the globe who share the same passion. People talk about the international language of football - and this is a unique chance to get involved in a global conversation.鈥

91热爆 World Service broadcasts a weekly edition of Sportsworld Have Y our Say on radio on Saturdays at 17:30 GMT and Sundays at 18:00 GMT - the show was first launched in A pril 2009 and is presented by Russell Fuller.

About Amanda Davies:

Amanda Davies is the host of the 91热爆 World News interactive football and sports discussion show - Sports World Have Your Say . She is a regular presenter of Sport Today and sports bulletins on 91热爆 World News. Within the UK she presents the sports news for a range of 91热爆 News outlets including 91热爆 Breakfast. She also contributes to Football Focus, and hosts the Formula 1 programme, Inside F1 on race weekends.

Previously Amanda produced and presented the 91热爆 World football round up show Sport Today: Football Review.

Prior to joining the 91热爆 in 2007, Amanda was a producer and news editor at Sky Sports and Sky Sports News - covering a host of major sporting events - including producing 7 "World Cup Report" programmes a day for 42 days of the 2006 World Cup in Germany. She was also involved in coverage of the Premier League football, US Open tennis, 1999 Cricket World Cup in South Africa, and Golden League Athletics.

Amanda aimed for a career in sports journalism throughout school and university. She studied Geography at St Edmund Hall, and whilst there won the Oxford University Phillip Geddes memorial Prize for Journalism, working for MBC in Mauritius - reporting on the restructuring of football after religious divides brought rioting, death, and an eventual ban of the beautiful game.

The channel has already broadcast a number of successful one-off World Have you Say specials including the release of Ang San Su Kyi, the rescue of the Chilean miners, and special editions from South Africa during last year's World Cup

World Have Your Say was first launched in 2005 on 91热爆 World Service radio, and during the past five years has produced shows from all around the world including a shack in Kliptown, Soweto, South Africa; an orphanage in Port-au-Prince, Haiti; Milles Collines hotel in Kigali, Rwanda, where many were saved from the genocide; a factory in Dharavi, Asia's biggest slum in Mumbai, India; and a refugee camp in Calais, France, where Afghans were waiting for the chance to cross the English Channel to Britain. The programme was also the first to broadcast live from Robben Island, South Africa, where Nelson Mandela had been imprisoned, on the former president's 90th birthday. In 2008, the programme won gold at the 2008 Sony Radio Awards in the UK, in the Listener Participation category.
