From Friday 5 February, 91热爆 World News presents Weekend World, a brand new weekend review programme, as part of the channel鈥檚 schedule refresh, which commenced this week.
Presented by award-winning 91热爆 broadcaster Paddy O'Connell, Weekend World is a sometimes irreverent and always lively look at viewers' comments on 91热爆 World News programmes and world issues in general. With his trademark wit, Paddy presents the audience with an exclusive snapshot of programmes being shown over the coming weekend on 91热爆 World News.
This weekend鈥檚 debut programme will feature two special guests. Reporter Chris Rogers聽will be talking about his special undercover investigation into Romania鈥檚 state institutions for Our World:聽Ceausescu's Children. Diplomatic Correspondent James Robbins will be interviewed from the edit suite as he cuts Our World:聽Mandela - 20 years of Freedom. Twenty聽years after the release of Nelson Mandela, James travels to South Africa and talks to FW de Klerk; the President who freed Mandela after 27 years of incarceration, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
Paddy O'Connell regularly presents on 91热爆 Radio 4. For six years he was the 91热爆 Wall Street correspondent, and anchored 9/11 coverage from New York in September 2001. He returns to 91热爆 World News where he previously presented World Business Report.
