World Cup correspondents: Russia

Igor says the Russian team are still deciding what uniform to wear.

Russia have a great chance to progress, in their way is Japan, Belgium and Tunisia.

Nottingham student Igor Sorokin takes a look at the Russian team's chances in the World Cup.

How is Russia preparing for the World Cup?

They are deciding how they are going to get there (joke) and what uniform they are going to wear (true). As far as I know they are quite happy about the fact that they managed to qualify and still celebrating that fact.

How do you think Russia will do in the World Cup?

No comments. Sorry. (Let's just say Igor is not too confident about their progress).

Who is Russia's best player and why?

Difficult to say. The best player is Bure, probably. Unfortunately he is an ice hockey player so not of much use. Panov is quite good (he scored against France, when we won). There are quite a few new good players.

What do you think to the England side?

England team is very strong. The problems are with your player's injuries and your group, which is probably the most competitive in the whole tournament.

Where will you be watching the matches?

Only in the news. Generally, Russians watch sport events at home, we do not go to pubs or clubs to do it in groups.
