World Cup correspondents: Argentina

Argentina are the favourites to lift the coveted trophy.

Argentina have won the tournament twice in their history, and they're one of the favourites for Japan.

Ernesto Martinez and Heidi Genijovich say the World Cup will be a welcome respite from the country's economic troubles.

How is your country preparing for the World Cup?

People in my country are eagerly waiting for the finals. Soccer is passion here and despite all the turmoil the society is in, the World Cup will provide us a little room for relax.

How do you think Argentina will do in the World Cup?

I think the National team is under too much pressure that can be against player performance. However, I feel that we can make trough the quarter finals.

Who's your best player and why?

There are a number of talented players in the squad, but I think J. Zanetti is the best one.

What do you think to the England side?

Actually you have a very good squad that can make England a good candidate to be among the best four teams. The drawback is to resort too much on David Beckham, who is an excellent player, but to win you need a team and not only a bunch of excellent individualities

Where will you be watching the matches?

Here, matches will be very late at night (2 - 3 o쨈clock in the morning). No chances for me to stay awake to see matches live.
