Try this naughty
but nice snack.
Serves: 2

Ingredients
for the fried slice:
2 slices of bread
2 eggs
2 tbsp caster sugar
2 tbsp double cream
1oz butter
extra thick cream to serve
Ingredients for the sauce:
2/3 oz seasonal fruit (blackberries/strawberries/raspberries)
1 oz caster sugar
1 tbsp water.
Method for the sauce:
1. Place all the ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a simmer.
2. Increase the heat to the boiling point and scrape off any impurities.
3. Return to simmer and cook for 4-5 minutes.
4. Remove from the heat and leave to cool.
Method for the fried slice:
1. Whisk together the eggs, sugar and cream.
2. Soak both sides of the bread in the mixture for a few minutes.
3. Melt the butter in a large frying pan on a medium heat and shallow
fry the slices for 2/3 minutes on both sides. This will give a golden
brown, slightly crisp texture, leaving a warm doughnut consistency
inside.
4. Put the slices on plates and spoon the sauce on top.
5. Serve with extra thick cream.
