After weeks
of stiff competition the winner of the first 91热爆 Nottingham Karaoke
Kids competition can be announced.
15-year-old Alex
Hulse, who attends The Grove school in Balderton, is the singer
who has beaten off the opposition to win the crown.
His version
of Boyzone's "Picture Of You" stirred a panel of judges,
including 91热爆 Radio Nottingham's Dean Jackson.
The final, held
at the Arts Theatre in Nottingham, before a packed audience, was
highly contested.

Singers had
been chosen after a series of heats in which the children were asked
to perform and talk to Radio Nottingham presenter Sarah Julian.
In the event,
the boys swept the board, taking all three top places.
Philip
Slaney came runner-up in the 16 and under category.
Philip, 15,
who attends Elliot Durham school, sang Eric Clapton's "Wonderful
Tonight" in the final.
In the 12 and
under section, the runner-up was Danny
Patrick who caught the judges ear with his interpretation of
"Come Back".
Danny, who's
12, goes to Carlton Le Williows school.
Everyone agreed
that the standard of the competition was top class.
Alex's prize
for winning the competition is a proper recording session. Remember
the name - Alex Hulse.
Hopefully it'll
be a question of Will Young and Gareth Gates beware and roll on
the next Karaoke Kids competition.
