Princess, a
preened poodle - unfortunatley she would find it hard to pass
as a Queen's Corgi

Move over popstars,
karaoke kids can make way - it's time for the preened pooches to take
centre stage.
The Theatre Royal is searching for a 'dog' star and the rewards
are high - a dog, hand picked by the Queen could win a star's salary.
Roald Dahl's best selling children's book the BFG (Big Friendly
Giant) comes to the Theatre Royal during half term from 2nd - 5th
June.
The cast have their lines memorised but there is still one dressing
room empty.
The producers of BFG are urgently in need of a suitable dog to play
the cameo role of the Queen's corgi.
At the auditions the dog will be hand picked by The Queen, played
by Verity Anne Meldrum.

The Queen's
Corgi. Not a wannabe. |
Unlike other talent
competitions a good voice is not required.
The production is after a well bred Corgi.
A royal pedigree is not essential but a regal air will take the dog
far.
Producers are after a docile animal, who's reasonably well trained
to walk to heel. One that is used to people and can cope with noise.
The lucky dog chosen (and his/her understudy) will receive a star's
salary in dog biscuits!
The auditions are being held on Tuesday 4th June from 2.30pm in the
Len Meynard Suite at the Royal Concert Hall.
Any dog that fits the bill should come along to the Stage Door for
the 2.30pm start. |
