Details: The
special Easter Activity sessions cover the whole of the school
holiday. Children will be able to buy a quiz sheet for 50p.
This will give them a series of clues and puzzles to solve,
leading them around the museum and its features.

There
will also be a huge Easter Egg on display and a challenge
to guess the weight of the confection. The child with the
nearest correct estimate will win the egg and be presented
with it and a certificate at the special May Day event later
in the year.
There
will also be an assortment of line drawings on an Easter theme
for the children to colour and take away.

24th March - Making mobiles with an Easter theme - 50p
Wednesday,
March 27th 11.00am - 3.00pm Nottingham Scouts will be at the
Museum to do crafts and organise games in the grounds or in
the caves if its wet.

The
Living Experience of Easter at Belvoir Castle

Details:
A chance to experience two days of living history at the castle,
meeting various characters who would have been at Belvoir
in 1825.

Members
of staff will be dressed in costume as the 5th Duke and Duchess,
the footman, the butler, the nanny and various visiting dignitaries
who will be entertained through the day in different parts
of the castle. Children will also be present in costume, kept
under control by the stern gaze of their governess.
The guests
will arrive at the castle at 11.15 to a welcome drink from
their host and hostess. They then move to the chapel for a
short Easter service followed by a visit to the schoolroom
to inspect the facilities recently installed by the 5th Duke.
Throughout
the day, visitors to Belvoir will be able to follow the special
guests as they are entertained by the Duke and Duchess.
At 2.30pm
young visitors to the castle will be invited to join the hunt
for bright tokens in the grounds. The child collecting the
most tokens will win an Easter Egg.
The governess
will be on hand to round up the children, direct the Hunt
and generally keep an eye on the proceedings.
All castle
guides will be happy to answer questions about the castle
and life in 1825.

Details:
With
the help of Merlin the Mole (the wizard mole), children will
search the park for Easter eggs. The kids will have to navigate
their way through the park, stopping at notices with pictures
of Merlin the Mole - he will give them a clue, to which they
have to solve. They then return to the information point to
claim their prize! There will also be a guest appearence of
Merlin the Mole himself! |
Easter
Egg Hunt - Green's Mill
Dates: March 23rd to April 1st

Details: Follow the trail around the mill and collect the
eggs. no need to book just go along.

Easter Bonnet making - Green's Mill
Dates: Thursday, 28th March, 10.30am - 12.00 or 1.00
- 3.30pm
Admission: £1 per hat.
Details: Visit Green's Mill and make an Easter bonnet. You
could use Green's Mill as inspiration - a hat with sails?
Or an electric
hat to make you hair stand on end. Let your imagination run
riot.
Suitable for children under 7 years, accompanied by an adult.

Easter Chick and Egg Hunt, Millgate museum

is the Victorian kitchen, that will have a demonstration of
icing flowers and marzipan fruits. Hear the stories from the
nursery attics and enter the easter quiz.
In addition Aunty Katy will be at the Abbey with her magic show
