Arguably the figure most closely associated with Nottinghamshire, it's hard not to mention Robin without reference to Marian.

There's still debate over who he was and if he actually existed but that hasn't stopped the village of Edwinstowe laying claim to being the place where Robin and Marian were married.

After all the village lies on the edge of Sherwood Forest so there's a chance the couple often popped down to the local hostelry when they were courting!
