Just one of
blockbusting films on offer at the Lowdham film festival
|
|
Flicks
in the Sticks is just that, a film festival bringing some top
movies to a village hall.
On offer is a themed weekend of films all of which were based on
books. From current favourites to some old classics.
Also included
in the event are talks, a prize film quiz, introductions and a workshop
on writing for the screen.
It all takes
place next weekend, 22nd to 24th February 2002 at Lowdham Village
Hall. There
will be early morning showings for young people, a late night film
for those a little older and a variety of classic films for those
in between. So hopefully something for everyone.

Haven't
seen it yet? Now is your chance... |
The village
hall in Lowham is being transformed for the event, with blackout
curtains fitted and ice-cream on order. It will hold an audience
up to 150 people, and with tickets being pre-bookable, it looks
set to be a success.
It is the first
time that a mini-film season has taken place in Lowdham, and the
organisers hope that people may want to go to more than one showing.
As an added attraction the tickets have been kept lower than normal
cinema prices, £3.25 (waged) and £2.50 (unwaged).
